June 6th is Revive Awareness Day

DISC Village’s Franklin County Office is proud to stand with our community in raising awareness about opioid overdose prevention.

We’re working alongside the Florida Department of Health in Franklin County to educate residents, distribute FREE Naloxone (Narcan), and help save lives. Naloxone is a life-saving medication that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose in minutes.

Know the Signs of an Opioid Overdose:

  • Pinpoint pupils
    • Slow or no breathing
    • Cold, clammy skin
    • Loss of consciousness or choking sounds

If you suspect an overdose, call 911 immediately, and administer Naloxone (Narcan) if available. Lay the person on their side to prevent choking, and
try to keep them awake and breathing until emergency assistance arrives.

What is the HEROS Program?

The Florida Department of Health’s Helping Emergency Responders Obtain Support (HEROS) program provides free naloxone to emergency response agencies across the state. Agencies with licensed emergency responders can apply for FREE Naloxone (Narcan) through HEROS to ensure their teams are equipped to save lives.
