Our Mission

Opened in 1971, the DISC house operated in partnership with Florida State University to provide drug information services to Tallahassee, Florida area. In 1972, DISC Village relocated to Woodville, FL and established one of the first residential therapeutic treatment communities for substance abusing adolescents in the state. Since 1972, DISC Village has consistently provided high-quality, innovative substance use and mental health treatment and therapeutic services for Tallahassee and the surrounding communities.

Today, DISC Village operates as a multi-site community based child welfare, criminal justice, diversion, and substance use/mental health treatment center that is recognized as a leader in the state for initiating, managing, and coordinating delinquency and substance use prevention/intervention programs in Northwest Florida. As a private, non-profit corporation, DISC Village is licensed by the State of Florida through the Department of Children and Families and is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) demonstrating compliance with national standards.


Our vision is a community where individuals and families can live healthy, safe, and productive lives.


It is the primary mission of DISC Village to promote the well-being of individuals, families, and those with whom they are closely associated who are adversely affected by alcohol and other drug use, crime, behavior problems, and mental health disorders.


DISC Village is committed to developing a broad continuum of services in response to the multiple and diverse needs of the community, while helping assure public safety. This will be accomplished by focusing upon continued accreditation, staff competence, measurable outcomes in services and client satisfaction.
