Arrest, even for first-time minor offenses, has life-long negative consequences that can ultimately impact overall success of an individual. The Juvenile Civil Citation program offers an alternative to formal judicial handling for these first-time misdemeanor offenders that opens access to assessment and case management services.

The Juvenile Civil Citation program has been actively serving youth in Leon County for over 20 years. Law Enforcement Officials utilize professional discretion to identify primary goals that hold these first-time offenders accountable without creating a record of arrest and criminal record.

Upon receiving a civil citation from Law Enforcement, youth engage in intervention services to complete the required sanctions and service recommendations outlined by the issuing Officer.

Successful completers of the program have fulfilled all service recommendations, sanctions, and assigned community service identified in the issued Citation.

Upon completion of the program, the youth's Citation will be closed, resulting in no arrest or criminal record being filed.
