Prevention Specialist - School Based
Responsibilties
Conduct assessments throughout the clients engagement with the program. Implement prevention counseling curriculum to appropriate fidelity levels. Develop an individualized prevention counseling service plan. Utilizing varied treatment models to assist clients in building resiliency. Monitor care to determine if additional services are needed. Maintain files on caseload and ensure all required documentation is completed. Complete all reports and documentation required within appropriate time frames. Research and plan education, prevention, and social skills development presentations. Foster positive relationships with assigned school to provide effective services to students
Requirements
Bachelors or Masters degree level practitioners must hold a degree from an accredited university or college with a major in counseling, social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, special education, health education, or related human services field, other than Criminology. A related human services field is a field of study with the objective of meeting human needs through an applied knowledge base, focusing on prevention as well as remediation of problems, and maintaining a commitment to improving the overall quality of life of service populations. Experience providing direct care services to youth in an educational setting is preferred.
Salary Rate
$21.00 - $23.00 per hour
