Community Xylazine Warning
The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration has issued an alert regarding the threat of fentanyl mixed with xylazine. Xylazine is an animal tranquilizer. The mix of xylazine and fentanyl puts individuals at a high risk of a fatal drug overdose. There is no xylazine antidote that has been approved for use by humans. Similar to fentanyl, xylazine impacts human respiratory function, as a result users of a mixture of fentanyl and xylazine are at a greater risk of drug poisoning than if they took a single drug.
